Dressing on a Dime

When I got dressed, this morning, I chose some clothes from my closet and had to smile, because I tallied the cost, and considered what I was wearing.
I chose a like-new pair of J Crew jeans, a Ralph Lauren t-shirt, and an Eddie Bauer cotton cardigan. Total cost $3.88, plus tax! All came from Goodwill. All were purchased at a GW sale. All look new.

I was there yesterday, and a woman and her mom were looking for clothing for a little girl. They had loads of Gymboree, Osh Kosh, Gap, etc. and all were between .99 and $1.99 each. They were beautiful articles of clothing. They were well dressed, and looked upper-middle class. Smart shoppers.
Smart shopping!

I wish I could find deals like this. I must be going to the wrong stores. Good job, though!!

I love finding great deals. Yesterday I was in an overstock store. They had men's winter Patagonia jackets for $7.50. Since my husband has too many jackets and coats to count I did not purchase one. On my way home I stopped at a re-cycle center. It is located in a very upscale resort community. I came home with an Italian Merino turtle neck top, a baby alpaca shawl, a Patagonia ski jacket, an Eddie Bauer sweater, a brass candlestick and a new brass chandler. The total price--Free. Life is good

I am just about to make a blog post about earning the thrift store queen crown too-an office desk chair for my son for $3.06 (made by Steelcase, the good quality ones).
