Peanut butter recall

On the news, this morning, I heard that Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butter starting with code numbers 2111, are being recalled because of the possibility of being contaminated with salmonella.
Checked mine, and the numbers 2111 were on the lid.
On line, I read that the peanut butter should be thrown away, and the lid should be returned to the store for a refund.
So, check your peanut butter codes!

You know I saw this on the news today and I have this peanut butter that I have been eating like crazy the last few days. What store should I return the peanut butter to I am not sure where I even bought it

Yesterday, the press release I saw said to return the lid to the store, but today I see that you are supposed to return it to ConAgra Foods.
The address is PO Box 3768, Omaha, NE 68103. I don't know if it is worth the expense of mailing it back, however. I am going to go to Wal-Mart today, and I will see if Customer Service will refund the price. If now, I don't know that I will bother using a padded envelope and stamps to send it to ConAgra.

I heard about that from another board. They said if you have a surplus, to contact customer service ( the no. is on the jar) and they will send you a prepaid envelope to send the lids in. It's so sad. You just don't know what is safe anymore.

This morning, I took the lid back to Wal-Mart, and on the counter, were two other lids, and two jars of peanut butter. They cheerfully refunded the money.

Better late than.....
