Money back from Home Depot

DH bought a new lawn mower on Sunday. Today it was on sale for $30.00 less. There was a time when I would have said, "That figures" and let it go. However, I called and asked if they had a policy whereby they would refund the difference if an item went on sale within 30 days of purchase. They said, they do, and to bring in the receipt. Saved $32.00, including tax.
The moral of the story is, it doesn't hurt to ask!

    I have learned to do this, too. I'm basically a shy person, so I never liked to ask. But it is definitely worthwhile! I recently saved $60 on renting a truck because I called back AFTER I'd made the reservation and told them I was a AAA member. I never would have done that in the past.

    I am also a rather shy person, but I have become more assertive over time. I also used to be the one who couldn't say, "no". Every charity that called on the phone would get money from me. Now, I have chosen a few that I give to, and can actually say, "I'm sorry, but I can't afford to donate to more than a few", and hang up without a guilty conscience.

    Good going on calling back that truck rental company, and getting a discount!

    Yes, definitely worth it.

    Funny, I was EXTREMELY shy growing up, including high school, college and only gradually over many years have i become less so. Today, i would describe myself as 'quiet' at times rather than shy. It's really in groups of people that i'm shy, but i am very very able to speak up in consumer type situations like this one.

    Your current description of yourself could be a description of me. One on one, or with people I know, I am pretty outgoing, but get me in a group of strangers, and it is another story.
